I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where I am completing my clinical training toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Before entering the counseling field, I spent nearly a decade working in higher education, primarily supporting high school and college students as they navigated educational decisions, career exploration, and major life transitions. These experiences sparked my interest in counseling and continue to shape my passion for helping people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and build lives that feel meaningful and authentic.
As a counselor-in-training, I am especially interested in working with adolescents (15+), young adults, college students, young professionals, and adults. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, life transitions, career and educational concerns, self-esteem, stress, and burnout. I am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients and individuals exploring questions related to identity, belonging, relationships, and personal or professional direction. I am also interested in working with men’s issues and supporting clients in developing healthier relationships with emotions, vulnerability, identity, and expectations surrounding masculinity.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, affirming, strengths-based, and grounded primarily in Person-Centered Therapy. I believe that clients are the experts on their own experiences and that a strong therapeutic relationship can provide a space for greater self-understanding, acceptance, and meaningful change. Depending on each client’s individual needs and goals, I draw from several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and existential approaches.
As a member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma, my own cultural identity has contributed to my commitment to culturally responsive and affirming counseling. I recognize that none of us exists separately from the families, communities, cultures, identities, and larger systems that shape our experiences. I strive to approach each client with cultural humility and curiosity, honoring the intersection of their identities and lived experiences without making assumptions about what those identities mean to them.
Ultimately, I hope to create a counseling environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered to explore who they are, navigate challenges, and move toward lives that reflect their own values and goals.
