Mindfulness & Connection Group: A Space for Whimsy and Well-being

A soft landing to reconnect with yourself, find community, and embrace the art of whimsy in a heavy world.

Our Mindfulness & Connection group is an ongoing weekly space designed for individuals (15+) to find a sense of “aliveness” amidst the struggles of daily life. We recognize that while we are often told to “take care of ourselves,” the actual how is frequently left unanswered. This group serves as a waystation for support: a community gathering place where we prioritize connection, mindfulness skills, and much-needed levity.

We believe that healing doesn’t have to be heavy to be meaningful. Our sessions are facilitated by a rotating team of skilled clinicians, each bringing their own unique zest and perspective to the practice. We specifically meet on Tuesdays to help combat the mid-week “joy dip” and provide you with tools to navigate personal and global grief through the lens of micro-joys. Whether you are looking for a supplement to personal therapy or a low-pressure environment to experience different therapeutic styles, we invite you to come as you are; you are enough.

In this group, we explore a variety of creative and grounding practices, including:

To ensure a safe container for everyone, participants must be at least 15 years old and not currently requiring a higher level of care (high-risk). Registration requires the completion of intake forms, a brief risk assessment, and a willingness to lean into the week’s focus with an open mind and a spirit of play. We can’t wait to see you there!

Group Facilitators

Lailani (LUH-LAY-KNEE) Bruff, MA, LPCC (she/her) is a contract provisionally licensed therapist (supervised by Lisa Kjeseth, MA, LPC, ACS) at TheraPride and has been a therapist for 4 years. Her identities as a Queer Neurodivergent person living with invisible/chronic illnesses, and as an Anger Therapist working within an anti-oppression lens has driven her passion for creating this therapeutic group space. Through her clinical specialty and her lived experience, Lailani understands the very real need for community spaces that allow us to process the impact of systemic oppression and the long-term impacts this can have on the body and nervous system. Her hope and intention for this group is to hold the container for participants as they vocalize their nuanced experiences over the course of these last few months, and to offer some “seeds” for each participant to plant and water within themselves both in the group and in their everyday lives.

Juniper (JOO-NIH-PUR) Murphy Webb, MS, LPC-Associate (they/them) is an associate therapist (supervised by Robert Christopher Broyles, MS, LPC-S) at TheraPride. Their identities as a Non-binary, Queer, and Neurodivergent person, alongside their specialized focus on body liberation and neuro-affirming care, drive their passion for creating accessible and empowering therapeutic spaces. Through their clinical training and lived experience, Juniper understands the vital importance of speaking out and finding a supportive container to process the complexities of identity and systemic pressure. Their hope and intention for this group is to support participants as they grow into their most authentic, congruent selves, offering a collaborative space where play and honesty allow for a truly fulfilling and meaningful life.
